TINUBU CONGRATULATES NBA’S NEW PRESIDENT-ELECT, AFAM OSIGWE
Afam Osigwe (SAN) has received congratulations from President Bola Tinubu on his election to the position of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President.
The president also thanked the newly elected NBA leaders and association members for the smooth conduct of the elections, according to a statement signed on Monday by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President (Media & Publicity).
President Tinubu thanked the outgoing NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), for his stewardship of Nigeria’s foremost legal association.
The president then assured the new leadership of the NBA of his administration’s support in addressing challenges affecting the association and the legal profession in general.
Osigwe emerged as the new NBA president after he secured 20,435 votes, defeating his closest rival, Chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, Tobenna Erojikwe, who garnered 10,998 votes while former NBA Lagos Branch Chairman, Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), got 9,018 votes.
