Former U.S. President Donald Trump has praised Greek-born Nigerian professional basketball star and Greece national team player Giannis Antetokounmpo for his impressive performance on the court with the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.

Antetokounmpo’s prowess with the Bucks in the NBA has won him many admirers, including Trump, who is seeking a second term in the upcoming U.S. elections.

According to Greekreporter, Trump praised the Milwaukee Bucks star and former NBA Most Valuable Player during a Republican Party campaign rally held on Wednesday, July 24, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

During the rally, the 45th U.S. president recalled the aesthetics of the Milwaukee stadium where the Republican National Convention was held last week.

“The stadium was beautiful. Milwaukee was beautiful,” Trump said.

“You know ‘The Greek,’ right? ‘The Greek.’”

“Milwaukee was great,” he continued. “They did a great job. The stadium is new. They built it for the basketball team, which is excellent. You know ‘The Greek,’ right? ‘The Greek.’”

Trump was referring to Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is currently with the Greek national basketball team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“He’s a good player,” Trump added.
