COUNTER RALLY BEGINS IN LAGOS AGAINST PROTEST
On Monday, July 29, youths in Lagos state held a counter rally to oppose the planned nationwide protest set for August 1.
The protest aims to address economic hardship in the country and has been gaining traction on social media, with demonstrations scheduled across all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, starting on August 1.
The youths, who gathered from various locations, converged on Lagos Island to show their support for the Tinubu-led administration and urged other youths to “shun violent protest.” They referenced the 2020 #EndSARS protest, which resulted in property destruction and loss of lives in the state, expressing their determination to prevent a recurrence.
