NEDC TRAINS STAFF ON ESSENTIAL EMERGENCY SKILLS
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has launched a comprehensive security training programme for its staff, aimed at equipping them with essential skills to respond effectively in emergencies.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Maiduguri on Monday, NEDC Managing Director, Goni Alkali, represented by Head of Administration Kadai Usman, explained the importance of security awareness amidst the region’s challenges exacerbated by the Boko Haram insurgency.
According to him, the training features expert sessions with top security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Speaking, Chief Superintendent Bukar A. Bukar of the Borno NSCDC Commandant stated the programme’s goal of instilling a culture of security consciousness among staff.
Participants expressed gratitude for the training, acknowledging its crucial role in equipping them with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergencies.
They commended the NEDC for taking proactive measures to enhance security awareness and preparedness, contributing to the region’s overall security.
