PMO COMMENCES YEAR 2024 WORKING TOUR OF PARASTATALS/AGENCIES
In a bid to ensure optimal performance in line with the policy thrust of the present administration in Lagos State, theParastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) has embarked on its year 2024 working tour of parastatals, agencies and government-owned companies across the State.
The visitation, led by the Permeant Secretary, Mrs AdetutuOsosanya (FCA) was meant to assess to operational efficiency and foster synergy and collaboration with the PMO whileunderstanding the impact of each agency’s work in order toensure that their objectives align with public expectations.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Parastatals organizations and agencies of government perform key roles in delivering specific services to the general public in line with the laws that established them and government policy directives, therefore,the visitations revolves around constructive and fruitful deliberations while ideas are being shared for the progress and development of Lagos State.
Mrs Ososanya stated that PMO’s role is to support and monitor the Agencies in a bid to help fulfil their assigned mandates under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S plus Agenda.
She emphasized, “By fostering open dialogue and maintainingrigorous assessment schedule of these agencies, the Office continues to promote good governance and drive sustainable developments across the state.”
She further stated that during the on-the-spot assessment, the Office usually engage in in-depth discussions for improvement while addressing any identified challenges and exploring opportunities for improvement.
“The insightful visitations which included facility tours of Parastatal organizations and Agencies of government, providescomprehensive understanding of their activities and operations.” She added.
The Office has so far visited the Lagos State Scholarship Board, Lagos State Examinations Board, Lagos State Television, Lagos Traffic Radio, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Lagos State Resident Registration Agency, Lagos State Pension Commission, Agency for Mass Education, Centre for Rural Development, Lagos State Safety Commission, Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission, Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency and the Lagos State Lottery Board.
