BREAKING: LAGOS #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria PROTESTERS DISCONTINUE DEMONSTRATION FOLLOWING TINUBU’S BROADCAST
On Sunday, the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest leaders at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, said they’d discontinue their Nationwide protests which commenced on August 1, 2024.
The development came after President Bola Tinubu addressed the nation on Sunday, urging Nigerians to suspend protests and make room for dialogue.
In a video posted on X by Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo-Olu on New Media, the protest leaders told the police they would leave the protest ground and disperse.
The protesters called for the suspension of the demonstration till October 1. They said since President Bola Tinubu has addressed the nation, little time should be given to assess all his propositions.
However, there are other protesters who insist on remaining at the venue to continue their demands.
Earlier, it was gathered that some hoodlums stormed the venue and disrupted the fourth day of the peaceful protest, forcing all protesters out of the area.
