
PARIS 2024: D’TIGRESS TO FACE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS USA IN QUARTER-FINAL
Nigeria’s D’Tigress will square up with holders, United States of America in the quarter-finals at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games.
Rena Wakama’s side sealed their place in the last-eight after a hard-earned 79-70 victory over Canada on Sunday.
The African champions finished the group stage with two wins and one defeat.
D’Tigress defeated Australia 75-62 in their opening fixture but lost to host nation France 75-54 in the second game.
They made history as the first African basketball team (male or female) to reach the quarter-finals at the Olympics.
USA on the other hand won all three group games against Japan, Belgium and Germany.
The encounter will hold at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy Arena, Lille on Wednesday.
