TWO BAGS 10 YEARS JAIL TERM OVER ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARMS IN DELTA
Two men were given ten years in prison by a Delta State High Court located in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, for owning large single-barrel firearms.
The defendants, Mr. Joshua Anamali, 25, and Mr. Nelson Adoh, 30, are presently being held in the Custodial Centre, Kwale.
On January 27, 2021, at the Ndemili village, they were taken into custody by police officers who were on stop and search duty when the exhibit was found on them.
After reviewing the accusations made against the defendants, Justice O. F. Enenmo, the presiding judge of the court, declared them guilty as charged.
He found them guilty of the crime of unlawful gun possession and punished them accordingly.
The Prosecuting Counsel Mrs Catherine O. Oboreruomo said two witnesses, testified in the case against the defendants who defended themselves.
Mrs Oboreruomo, who disclosed this in a chat with newsmen after the judgement, advised young people to shun crime, saying that the result of crime is condemnation and total destruction.
