Agency Report
For Jigawa’s candidates in the 2024 academic year, the Jigawa government has allotted N888 million for the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), and the National Examinations Registration Costs (NECO).
39,709 candidates had their payments covered by this amount.
Mr. Sagir Musa, the Dutse Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sport, and Culture, made this announcement in a statement.
Musa stated that during a meeting on Thursday, the State Executive Council had approved the funds.
The commissioner stated that the council had also approved N921.9 million for extra work to be done on the current contract with Messrs. ALREN Construction Company Ltd. for the upkeep and rehabilitation of the Auyo-Kafin Hausa road, as well as N16.1 million for an additional award of consulting services to Messrs. Innovative Engineering Consultant.
He clarified that N400 million had also been granted by the council to help MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises) in the state.
“The approval is the last tranche of the N1 billion earlier approved by the council to the project account,” he said.
The commissioner went on to say that the council had also approved the formation of a committee consisting of ten members to oversee the state’s new minimum wage.
He announced the appointment of the Jigawa Head of Service as Chairman, the Commissioners of Justice, Finance, Budget, Local Government, Basic Education, Health, and Information, as well as the Personal Secretary to Governor Umar Namadi, as Members.
