On Thursday, after bandits broke into the rural village, more than thirty people died. The event shocked people throughout the state.
Through his media assistant, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor responded to the event and expressed sympathy to the victims’ families for the assault.
“Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia expresses deep sadness over the news of another unprovoked attack on Ayati settlement in Ukum Local Government Area where several people were reportedly killed,” Kula said in a statement.
