SUPER EAGLES JOB VACANCY A BIG PROBLEM – EKPO
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo has voiced his concern over the Nigerian Football Federation’s (NFF) delay in appointing a new head coach for the team, with Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers fast approaching.
Ekpo stressed that it is troubling that no decision has been made yet, particularly with the FIFA international window set to open in September.
He warned that any further delays could jeopardize the team’s preparations.
EAGLES: ‘WHY DON’T WE LOOK INWARDS’ – AGHAHOWA URGES NFF TO HIRE HOME-BASED COACH
“This August, all European clubs and leagues will be in full swing, and our own league in Nigeria should also kick-start,” he said.
“I’m worried because the FIFA calendar comes into play in September, either in the first or second week, and yet, we don’t know who our coach is or the players he’s bringing in.”
The former player emphasized the urgency, noting that the Super Eagles have crucial competitions in September.
“It would not be good for us if we don’t act before then. So I’m worried, just like every other person is worried,” he added.
