PARIS 2024: IT’S QUITE DISHEARTENING – CHIOMA AJUMWA BEMOANS NIGERIA’S OUTING
Nigeria’s first Olympic gold medalist, Chioma Ajunwa, has described Nigeria’s recent outing in Paris 2024 Olympics as disheartening.
She stated this on Monday while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme.
Nigeria failed to win any medal at the just concluded Olympics held in Paris, France.
Reacting to the development, Ajunwa said it was unfortunate that the nation lost the whole chances, adding that athletes wasted their time, energy and resources.
“It’s quite disheartening that every year Nigeria tells this kind of story.
If you could remember, after the last Olympics before this, it was still the same thing.
“You know they will keep on telling us. Oh, let them go back to the drawing board, the drawing board we never see; and we don’t know how to draw on the board.
“It’s quite unfortunate that we have lost the whole chances. And the athletes to have wasted their time, their energy and their own personal resources.
“It is quite unfortunate that Nigeria spent so much, but that one is not my business because we don’t spend that money when we are supposed to spend it,” she said.
