JUST IN: SIX FEARED DEAD AS TRUCK COLLIDES WITH VEHICLE, PEDESTRIANS IN OGUN
Six people are battling for life following an accident that occurred in the Enugada area of Lafenwa, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Thursday.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, that a truck, suspected to have lost control, rammed into a vehicle, a commercial motorcycle and some pedestrians along the side of the road and crushing them.
The source added that the incident occurred at about 9 pm.
The source said, “I think the truck lost control and rammed into a vehicle and a motorcycle including some pedestrians who are walking by the roadside.”
A video of the accident scene obtained by our correspondent showed the lifeless and mutilated bodies of some of the victims with sympathisers wailing in the background.
Confirming the incident in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said rescue efforts are ongoing.
Akinbiyi said, “There is a fatal road traffic accident at Enugada Lafenwa. The rescue operation is ongoing.”
