SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS UZODINMA’S RE-ELECTION VICTORY AS IMO GOVERNOR
The Imo state governorship election that resulted in Hope Uzodimma winning a second term was upheld by the Supreme Court on Friday.
The Peoples Democratic Party and Samuel Anyawu, its candidate for the state’s most recent gubernatorial election, filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, but it was unanimously dismissed.
All of the matters brought up for resolution in the appeal against the appellants were addressed by the court in the lead judgment, which was given by Justice Mohammed Baba Idris.
The appeal was denied by the court after it determined that it lacked merit.
