
PICTORIAL: ONYEKA ONWENU FINALLY LAID TO REST IN LAGOS
Onyeka Onwenu, Nigeria’s celebrated music icon known as the “Elegant Stallion,” was laid to rest in Lagos.
The artist died on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, after collapsing during an event honouring Emzor Pharmaceuticals’ Managing Director, Dr. Stella Okoli.
She was 72 years old.
The funeral service was held at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
A former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, were spotted at a burial held on Friday (today).
Onwenu was not only a gifted musician with numerous hits but also a broadcaster, actress, politician, and activist.
She is survived by her two sons.
