Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who departed the reds at the end of last season after a hugely successful spell at Anfield has made a remarkable return to his former side.

Jurgen Klopp is making an emotional return to former club Borussia Dortmund for a special one-off game.

The German has been out of work since bidding an emotional farewell to Liverpool in the summer. Klopp left Anfield one year before the end of his contract – drawing a hugely successful spell with the Reds to a close.

But Klopp has been unable to resist a return to his former club Dortmund after being asked to manage in a special testimonial. Ex-Dortmund stars Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski, both key members of the squad during Klopp’s reign, are set to toast their careers at the club.

During a promotional video for the game, Piszczek called his former teammate and said: “Kollega, we have a farewell game, do you know that? We need a coach and I have an idea, we’ll call the retired coach.”

Klopp was then pictured joining the call and said: “You finally have your farewell game. Oh my god. And you want to train, are you stupid?”

Asked which side he would like to manage, Klopp replied: “I couldn’t care less. I do it like I used to, I start thinking about it five minutes beforehand.”

The video then concluded with the message “Kloppo ist dabei,” which in English translates to “Kloppo is there”.
