REPRESENTATIVES POSTPONE RETURNING FROM THEIR ANNUAL BREAK
The date of the House of Representatives’ resuming has been moved forward by one week.
The plenary session of the lower parliament has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 24, at 11:00 am, instead of Tuesday, September 17, when members were supposed to return from their yearly holiday.
According to a statement from the House’s spokesman, Akintunde Rotimi, the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, informed members of the decision to reschedule the resumption through an internal note, in accordance with a mandate from the House Leadership.
There is no known explanation for the change in the start date.

Rotimi further said that on September 25, when the House reassembles, the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees on the Petroleum Industry Investigation and the Public Complaints Commission will appoint their new boards.
Unknown is the cause of the change in the start date.
