2024/2025 LJLA COHORT SET FOR TRANSFORMATIVE JOURNEY
The 2024–2025 cohort of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) has formally begun their transformative leadership journey.
The Fellows attended an onboarding session as part of their orientation, during which they learned about the mission, tenets, and essential values of the Academy.
Drawing from her own leadership experiences, LJLA Executive Secretary Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade gave the fellows a warm welcome and provided an informative summary of the Academy’s mission and objectives.
She emphasized the value of persistence in her speech and urged the fellows to persevere through difficulties as they honed their leadership abilities.
“You must see yourselves as ambassadors of this academy and lead with integrity and selflessness,” she urged, inspiring the fellows to meet the high expectations of the Fellowship program.
She also urged them to embrace a service-driven approach and emphasized the Academy’s critical role in shaping the next generation of leaders.
Following her speech, delegates from important departments within the Academy outlined their responsibilities and clarified how their coordinated efforts further the Academy’s objective of developing a fresh batch of ethical, inventive, and well-rounded leaders.
The fellows took part in the YES+ (Youth Empowerment Seminar+) Wellness Program in order to better equip them for the trip that lay ahead. This extensive course fosters mental clarity, emotional balance, and general well-being by providing students with tools to overcome contemporary issues through breathing methods, yoga, meditation, and practical wisdom.
