The Inspector-General of Police’s objective to strategically realign the Police Force and guarantee optimal exploitation of the Force’s human resources is reflected in the appointment of these strategic managers. Nonetheless, the IGP has pushed the recently appointed Chief Protection Officers of State Commands to use caution in carrying out their legal responsibilities and to embrace new ideas that may lessen security risks in their spheres of influence. He also urged them to support the police reform initiatives, as doing so will advance both the nation as a whole and the Nigeria Police Force.
