UPDATED: INEC UPLOADS 97.23% OF EDO ELECTION RESULTS ON IREV
The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 94.60 percent of the results from the Edo governorship election onto its Result Viewing Portal.
HOTJIST reports that as of 11:54 p.m. on Saturday, 4,394 of the 4,519 polling units where elections were held in the state have been uploaded.
Recall that Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo, had assured that the governorship election results would be transmitted electronically.
Onuoha spoke in an interview on Arise Television on Saturday, stressing that only a poor network could hinder the transmission of results to the viewing portal (IReV).
“We have trained the operators for the BVAS. They are set. BVAS is to accredit the voters, to know the total number of voters that will vote at that level, that polling unit.
“After that, then the voters will now start voting. At the end of the day, they will count the results, and it will be uploaded to our IReV,” he assured.
