VIDEO: DAMATURU, MAIDUGURI, OTHERS PLUNGED INTO DARKNESS AFTER VANDALISATION OF TOWER
Another act of vandalism has been reported on the electricity infrastructure along the Damaturu-Maiduguri line.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, marking the third such attack on the electricity towers in the area.
Sources revealed that after TCN lines crew of Maiduguri went on patrol along Gombe – Damaturu, 330kv line tower no T372 was found vandalized.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria had previously reported similar incidents. In July 2024, TCN announced that vandals had destroyed two of its towers along the Damaturu-Maiduguri line.
Meanwhile, in a press statement issued by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the company confirmed the latest act of vandalism.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that two of its towers, T193 and T194, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kV Single Circuit Transmission Line have again been destroyed by vandals,” Mbah said.
Further details on the recent incident are expected soon.
