JUST IN: THREE DEAD AS MIGRANT BOAT SINKS OFF GREECE
An inflatable boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of the Greek island of Samos in the Aegean Sea on Monday, killing three people and rescuing five others, according to authorities.
Accidents involving migrants occur on a daily basis off the coast of Greece, one of the most popular destinations for individuals fleeing poverty or war in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East seeking to enter the European Union.
In the most recent incident, the boat sank early Monday off the northwest coast of Samos, one of the Greek islands closest to Turkey, from which many migrants embark on their trek.
