ARMY, LAGOS TASK FORCE COLLABORATE TO ENHANCE SECURITY

The goal of the Nigerian Army and the Lagos Taskforce, who have declared their purpose to create “a safer city for all,” is to improve security throughout Lagos State through a structured inter-agency relationship.

The Director of Press and Public Affairs for the Lagos State Taskforce expressed this dedication to cooperation in a statement.

According to the statement, this pledge was reaffirmed on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Taskforce’s chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, at the Taskforce’s headquarters by Brigadier General Olawale Oyekola, Commander of the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

“The Brigade Commander and his team were warmly received by the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, alongside other senior officers of the Agency.

“During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening existing inter-agency synergy and fostering a healthy partnership between the Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Taskforce. The conversation highlighted their shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Lagos.

“Brigadier General Oyekola commended CSP Akerele for the impressive strides made in recent months, particularly in sanitising Lagos roads and ensuring a secure environment for all Lagosians,” the statement partly read.

He promised continuous cooperation to improve security measures throughout the state and stated that the Nigerian Army is prepared to assist the Lagos State Taskforce in any way should the necessity arise.

CSP Akerele responded by thanking the Nigerian Army for its continuous cooperation and restating the Taskforce’s commitment to protecting Lagos State’s environment, as stated in the State Government’s THEMES PLUS Agenda.Additionally, he pledged to use every resource at his disposal to improve the collaboration with all pertinent organizations.

“Both leaders emphasised the importance of maintaining close ties between the military and law enforcement agencies to ensure a safer city for all.

“The courtesy visit marks a continued commitment to operational cooperation and mutual support between the Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Taskforce,” the statement stated.
