LSCPWB HOLDS ONE-DAY SEMINAR FOR OPERATIONS STAFF

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has organized a one-day session for operations workers to get them ready for the upcoming trouble-free pilgrimage exercise to the Holy Lands.

To make sure that the operations team was informed about their duties and responsibilities during the pilgrimage exercise, a seminar was recently held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.

In her address to the attendees, LSCPWB Board Secretary Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe said that the participants had been carefully chosen from among clerics, administrators, and practitioners in the medical and media fields who will be caring for the pilgrims’ physical and spiritual well-being while they are on pilgrimage.

Gbafe went on to say that those in attendance should take this call as an opportunity to thank the Lagos State Government for all of the support they have received and to get ready to provide the pilgrims with exceptional service.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adewunmi Gbolahan Ogunsanya admonished the operations staff to be worthy ambassadors of the state and ensure to follow the rules and regulations set by the guides and leaders. “We must comfort ourselves in the best way possible so that at the end of the exercise, we will have a great memory of our activities during this year’s pilgrimage”, she added.

Bishop Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, the Chairman of the Board, also spThe Special Adviser on Religion (Christian), Very Revd. Adebukola Adeleke, made note of the importance of the operations personnel serving as excellent ambassadors for not only the state government but also their families and the body of Christ in his message of goodwill.

Board member Mr. Oluwayemisi Adeyemi stated that the organization has taken many steps to guarantee pilgrims’ safety and security. While expressing gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his support, he said that plans for pilgrims’ lodging, transportation, and safety had already been made during the pre-visit exercise a few months prior.

He made it clear that when it comes to Pilgrims’ convenience and safety, standards would not be sacrificed.

Adeleke proudly stated that the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board is a welfare board and not a commercial board. “We are after pilgrims welfare and not the profit”, he stated.
