EVIL UNLEASHED: HOW PHILLIP OGUNNAIKE MURDERED THREE YOUNG GIRLS IN OGUN
Phillip Ogunnaike has been arrested for the chilling murders of three young girls in Ogun State, shedding light on a harrowing series of crimes marked by abduction, sexual assault, and extortion. According to the Ogun State Police Command, Ogunnaike preyed on vulnerable victims, committing unspeakable acts of violence before strangling them. After each murder, he contacted the victims’ families, falsely claiming their daughters had been kidnapped and demanding ransom payments.
The Victims:
Abigel Dina
On May 26, 2024, Abigel Dina, a nurse, was abducted while on her way to work in Itori. Ogunnaike robbed her of her iPhone XR, strangled her, and then demanded a ransom of fifty thousand naira from her family. Her lifeless body was later discovered in a nearby forest.
Mary Ogunyemi
Mary Ogunyemi, 23, was sent by her mother to buy fruits on July 3, 2024. Familiar with the family, Ogunnaike lured her into a secluded area. With an accomplice, he restrained and strangled her, subsequently contacting her mother for a ransom of seventeen thousand naira. Her body was left concealed in the bush.
Habeebah Akinsanya
On August 30, 2024, Habeebah Akinsanya was kidnapped, leading to a ransom demand of one million naira from her father. After he paid thirty thousand naira, her body was found on their farmland, accompanied by her Moniepoint POS machine. Ogunnaike admitted to luring and murdering her.
Arrest and Investigation
Ogunnaike’s arrest was the result of a thorough investigation, during which he led authorities to the locations where he buried the victims. It was revealed that he had escaped from Ibara Correctional Center two years prior, where he was awaiting trial for armed robbery, identifying him as a serial killer.
Evidence Collected
Police recovered significant evidence, including stolen mobile phones and ropes used in the murders. This tragic case highlights the critical need for community awareness and effective measures to combat violence against women and children, underlining the importance of safety and justice in society.
Exhibits recovered from the suspect are; (1) I Phone XR, (2) I Phone 11; (3) Infinix Hot Ten I; (4) Moniepoint POS Machine and two black ropes.”
