BARCA UNDER FIRE FOR SECRET DEALS
Last Monday, Barcelona revealed the results of their yearly accounting, which included losses of nearly €90 million for the year, largely as a result of the economic lever sales of Barca Vision not being paid for. Next Saturday, the Blaugrana are scheduled to present their accounts for voting to the members.
Prior to their Gerneral Assembly, the Catalan giants handed members a 90-page document outlining their financial statistics, ensuring they were fully informed about what was going on at the club.
According to the document, the club is being sued by Sergio Aguero for €3 million in unpaid pay, while the agents of Ousmane Dembele are claiming that the club owes them €10 million for the French winger’s 2023 transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Athletic went on to say that the accounts show Barcelona has made a “secret signing.” The Blaugrana have reportedly paid €1.7 million for a player who has not yet been named—they believe it to be Senegalese sensation Ibrahim Diarra. Beginning in 2025, the 17-year-old is scheduled to relocate to Barcelona, where he will eventually join Barca Atletic as an adult. He has been developing for Academie Africa Foot, where he plays now.
At the under-17 World Cup last year, he attracted Barcelona’s attention. Although there had been previous rumors that Barcelona had finalized a deal for Diarra, no price had been disclosed. The Blaugrana are currently considering Malian prospect Mbaye after recently signing Ghanaian left-back David Oduro from the Accra Lions.
