NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY OPENS APPLICATION FOR 11TH REGULAR DEGREE PROGRAMMES
The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has announced the commencement of applications for its 11th Regular Course Degree Programmes. The online portal for application will be open from October 14 to November 18, 2024. This offers prospective candidates a six-week window to submit their applications for admission into the prestigious institution.
The Academy invites both male and female applicants of Nigerian origin to apply. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. A minimum of 180 marks in the 2024 JAMB examination, with Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, selected as the first choice.
2. At least six credits in WAEC/NECO or equivalent, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
3. Applicants must be between 17 and 21 years old by October 31, 2024.
4. They must meet the required physical and medical standards: 1.67m height for males, 1.64m for females, and for males, a minimum chest measurement of 86cm.
5. Candidates must not be married or pregnant during the admission process and should have valid contact information.
Interested candidates are required to visit the Academy’s official website, www.admission.polac.edu.ng, to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for the payment of a non-refundable fee of N5,500, which includes N2,000 for the Post-UTME exam. The payment can be made at any commercial bank. Applicants are then required to complete the online form and upload copies of their SSCE certificates, birth certificates, and certificates of origin.
According to a report, shortlisted applicants will undergo a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) at the Academy’s ICT Center. Following the CBT, successful candidates will be invited for an automated physical screening, where they must present original documents such as educational certificates, birth certificates, and evidence of fitness and good character.
Candidates who pass the physical screening will proceed to the automated medical screening. Those who qualify at this stage will face an interview and final selection process. Notifications of admission will be sent via email and SMS.
The Academy offers degree programmes across several faculties: Faculty of Humanities which include English, History & International Studies, and Linguistics & Nigerian Languages, Faculty of Law, LLB Law, Faculty of Sciences, includes Biochemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science, and more, Faculty of Social & Management Sciences, includes Accounting, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology.
Candidates admitted into the Nigeria Police Academy will undergo five years of academic and police training, leading to the award of a Bachelor’s Degree and commissioning as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II) upon graduation.
