JUST IN: VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTOR AYOBAMI OLABIYI IS DEAD
Popular Nollywood actor, Otunba Ayobami Olabiyi, widely known as Bobo B, has died.
He reportedly passed away in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a brief illness.
Before his death, Olabiyi served as the former governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) in Oyo State and was the current national secretary.
He had been unable to join a film set in Oyo last month due to declining health.
Olabiyi was admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, where he ultimately succumbed to his illness.
TAMPAN’s Oyo State governor, Bose Akinola, confirmed the news, stating: “I have the directive of Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola to announce the passing of our national general secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’
May God grant his family and the entire TAMPAN community the strength to endure this loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”
Colleagues paid heartfelt tributes to the late actor.
Abidemi Temitayo reminisced about their time on set, expressing shock at the news of his passing.
“Today, that same jovial man is no more. The industry will surely miss you,” he said.
Princess Adenike Ajoke added: “May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace, Chief Alhaji Mudashir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’
May God grant your family and TAMPAN members the fortitude to bear this loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”
