The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has mourned the passing of the Plus TV cameraman attached to his office, Mr. Samson Obafisoye.
The Governor described the death of Obafisoye as a great loss, not only to the deceased family but to the broadcast industry.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the late Obafisoye was described as a thoroughbred professional who discharged his duties diligently and contributed his quota to the broadcast media industry in Nigeria.
The Governor also commiserated with the deceased family, friends and colleagues, especially the management and staff of the Plus TV as well as the Lagos State Governor’s Office Correspondents (LAGOCO), over the death of the cameraman.
He said: “Mr. Samson Obafisoye’s death was a great loss not only to his family but to the media industry, particularly the management and staff of Plus TV and executives and members of the Lagos State Governor’s Office Correspondents (LAGOCO). He was a diligent and thoroughbred professional. His death was a great shock, but we take solace in the Almighty God that he lived a fulfilled life.
“Samson Obafisoye will be greatly missed. On behalf of my family and the State Government, I sympathise with the deceased family, friends, associates, and colleagues. I pray that God will grant him eternal rest and grant his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
