In order to better serve the needs of both domestic and foreign companies, the Corporate Affairs Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to making major changes to its organisational structure.

Hussaini Magaji, the Registrar-General/CEO of the CAC, made this declaration at the opening of the 2024 Management Retreat, which was held in Jos, Plateau State, with the theme “Repositioning the Corporate Affairs Commission for Enhanced Service Delivery.”

The commission emphasised in a statement it released on Friday that it is committed to restructuring and changing the CAC into an international registry that is focused on the needs of its users.

During his speech, Magaji emphasised that in order to create a more adaptable and dynamic framework, the current organisational structure must be completely redesigned.

According to him, the CAC is a learning organisation that is prepared to change and adapt in order to satisfy present and future client needs and maintain its focus on the needs of its clients.

“Therefore, in order to create a more dynamic and flexible structure in line with global realities, the current organogram must be completely dismantled.”

He continued by saying that the broad application of technology to carry out specific functions was necessary to keep up with the ongoing changes in human needs.

Magaji emphasised the retreat’s theme and asked participants to make plans for future needs in addition to current customer demands in order to keep the commission’s procedures and structures current.

He also disclosed plans to reorganise state offices’ core duties and operations, with an emphasis on post-incorporation activities.

These offices will be transformed into strategic compliance and enforcement centres or units as part of this new strategy, which will place a special emphasis on compliance and enforcement. He claims they will be appropriately reorganised, equipped, and trained to perform duties related to ethical compliance and enforcement.

The Registrar-General stated that in order to accomplish this goal, a committee had been formed to create a blueprint. This blueprint would take into account other pertinent international models with comparable structures as well as best practices from other jurisdictions, especially Malaysia and China.

Furthermore, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State praised the Registrar-General for his efforts in realigning the commission. In the person of Commissioner of Trade and Industry Musa Sule, the governor capitalised on the occasion to emphasise Plateau State’s economic potential.

During his speech, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, the Director General/CEO of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), commended the Registrar-General for his commitment to turning around the CAC’s situation.

Sani Mudi, the previous Deputy Executive Chairman of Jos North, also voiced his happiness with the CAC’s work.
