Social media star VeryDarkMan revealed that the ₦100 million donation to his recently founded non-governmental organization was made by music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, better known by his stage as Don Jazzy.

VeryDarkMan, who stated that the organization will concentrate on enhancing public schools and community development, first voiced concerns in an Instagram video, questioning the size of the deposit and asking Zenith Bank to look into the matter.

“@zenithbankplc, please investigate my NGO account. I don’t know what is going on, hope I’m not being set up… I AM NOT INTO MONEY LAUNDERING, I DO NOT DO FRAUD (FOR THE RECORD). Nigerians, bear me witness, I don’t know what’s up with the account,” he posted.

However, in a new video released on Thursday, VeryDarkMan confirmed that Don Jazzy had reached out to inform him that he made the donation to support the cause.

He said, “Guys, yesterday I posted that I received ₦100m in my account. I did not receive an alert. I just saw that the money had increased from ₦70m to ₦170m plus.

“I panicked because I didn’t expect anybody to just send me ₦100m like that, so I thought it was a glitch or maybe someone wanted to set me up, because people had been sending ₦50, ₦100, ₦200, ₦500 and so on, and it’s understandable for me to panic.”

After contacting everyone he knew to find out who might have sent the money, he eventually received a message from Don Jazzy.

The message read, “Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send ₦100m to support. I believe in what you are doing and trust you to be as transparent as you have always been. We really need that in our country. I wish you all the best with the project and more blessings to you. It’s not easy.”

Don Jazzy became popular on the X platform when the information was made public, and a lot of people expressed gratitude for his kindness and offered prayers for the music producer.

Additionally, VeryDarkMan reaffirmed his dedication to openness and pledged to keep sharing updates regarding the money raised.

Five days after its founding, he revealed, the NGO had already collected ₦179 million.
