
JUST IN: TINUBU, FEC SCRAP NIGER DELTA, SPORTS DEVELOPMENT, MERGE CULTURE, TOURISM MINISTRIES
The Federal Executive Council and President Bola Tinubu have scrapped the Ministry of Sports Development and the Niger Delta Ministry.
This was revealed in a post on Wednesday via X by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy.
He claimed that the FEC meeting in Abuja was where the decisions were made.
According to him, “there will now be a Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, North East Development Commission”.
He added that going forward, the Ministry of Sports will be replaced by the National Sports Commission.
The president also gave his approval for the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy to unite during the FEC meeting.
