TRAGIC: SUSPECTED GUNMEN KILL NINE IN ANAMBRA
Nine people were reportedly slain in Awka, Anambra State, by suspected gunmen.
The event occurred around 10 a.m. at Ifite-Awka, behind the school gate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK).
According to reports, the perpetrators arrived in two vehicles and began firing at random.
Though one eyewitness described it as a cult war, their operational technique, according to a source, was that of Biafra agitators.
The source also informed The Nation that gunfire struck other people in the process.
Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra Police’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the occurrence.
