13 KILLED IN KADUNA – ABUJA EXPRESSWAY ACCIDENT
On Friday, a traffic accident on the busy Kaduna-Abuja expressway claimed the lives of at least thirteen persons.
The incident in Kaduna was confirmed by Kabir Nadabo, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna State Sector Commander.
The deceased were transferred to St. Gerard’s Hospital, he said, while the three survivors were sent right away to AP Smart Hospital in Kakuri for additional care.
“It is essential to remind drivers that speeding is dangerous,” he stated.
While in transit, the Sector Commander advised cars to always stay under the required speed limits.
“The road traffic crash occurred near Olam Farm on Kaduna-Abuja Highway about 3 p.m. when a Toyota Hiace marked GTG 96YA carrying 11 persons collided with a Golf Salon marked RBC 369XE with five passengers.”
“As we enter the ‘ember season fully, motorists are reminded of the need to adhere to basic safety ethics while traveling,” he said.
“FRSC is committed to ensuring the roads are safe for all users.
“The Corps extends its sincere gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for the continuous support in FRSC activities,” Nadabo said.
