7 ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED VANDALISATION OF NNPC PIPELINES IN ADAMAWA

In Adamawa State, seven people have been taken into custody for allegedly damaging “critical structures.”
The crucial buildings were identified as pipelines owned by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) by the state police command’s operations team, who conducted the arrest.
53 pieces of vandalized pipes were found, according to a statement from the Adamawa State Police Command.
The culprits were apprehended in an operation on Friday, October 25, after they banded together and stole the seized pipeline segments, according to the Command’s statement, which was signed by Police image maker Suleiman Nguroje.
According to the police, the suspects were taken into custody after the state command acted on information from a good Samaritan.
According to the statement, the suspects are Adamu Abdullahi, 28, from Bununu Funai in Yobe State; Mohammed Hassan, 25, from Kasuwan Shanu, Potiskum, Yobe State; Yakubu Adamu, 27, from Sabon Layi, Potiskum, Yobe State; and Umar Musa, 40, from Kaduna Road, Abuja.
The others are Gabriel Wale, 40 years old and a resident of Mafoluku, Ishodi, Lagos State; Abubakar Garba, 40 years old and a resident of Angwan Dosa, Kaduna State; and Aliyu Muhammad, a 28-year-old man from Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
“This distressing incident poses a substantial threat to public safety and represents a severe act of economic sabotage as it pertains to crucial infrastructure linking Adamawa State and the southern part of the country,” the police command stated.
It revealed that the case has been recorded for a thorough investigation and that steps are being taken to capture their accomplices, who it claimed are working behind the scenes with the suspects.
