JIGAWA DELEGATES IN LAGOS TO UNDERSTUDY EDUCATION SYSTEM
The Lagos State Government has stated that it is still dedicated to the goal of setting an example for excellence in African education delivery and that the State would keep making strides in educational accomplishment and distinction on a global scale.
This was said by Mr. Bashir Adebowale, Tutor-General/Permanent, Lagos State Education District 1, during a recent reception for four representatives of the Jigawa State Quality Assurance Agency, who were accompanied by Dr. Ya’u Ahmad Sara, Director-General of the District.
Mr. Adebowale stated that the team’s purpose was to observe the Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) in order to get knowledge of its roles, duties, mandates, and activities within the Lagos State education system.
He said that this visit followed a celebration of the Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaye pupils’ accomplishment of winning first place in the Lagos State Governor’s Quiz Competition for Y2024. Additionally, he stated that the District had reformed a large number of children in accordance with Mr. Governor’s motto, “no child should be left behind.”
He claimed that every year, the Lagos State Government creates an educational model that is on par with global norms.
He also praised Mr. Governor for his deep love of education, which has up till now resulted in the government allocating a sizable portion of its budget to this field. Additionally, he emphasized the generosity of the State Government in inspiring teachers through various awards.
In response, Jigawa State Education Quality Assurance Director-General Dr. Ya’u Ahmad Sara said the team was grateful for the Office of Education and Quality Assurance’s cordial welcome.
According to him, the government’s vast resources are directed toward promoting Jigawa State’s educational system so that students can defend their academic achievements wherever they may be.
Dr. Ya’u emphasized that Jigawa State selected Lagos State as its example since learning and relearning are the only ways to enhance and effectively employ the State’s resources.
