The death of Hon. Dotun Olakanle, the Executive Chairman of the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in the early hours of Saturday, November 2, 2024, following a brief illness, has shocked and saddened Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert (Bibiire).
While expressing sympathy to the family and loved ones, the Honorable Commissioner noted that the Chairman was a humanist and a leader committed to his council’s growth after taking office.

According to him, “We lost a gem, an extraordinary Chairman who has dedicated his life to the development of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area and, by extension, Lagos State”.
The Commissioner also prayed for his soul’s rest and for God Almighty to console his wife, family, friends, and the residents of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area during the visit.
The Director of the Local Government Administration Department joined the Permanent Secretary on the visit, which was welcomed by top Onigbongbo LCDA council officials and Alhaja Iyabo Aminat Akerele, the APC Chairperson for the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area.
