
COAS’ DEATH: IGP SHELVES ALL PERSONAL, SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS IN HONOUR OF LATE LT. GEN LAGBAJA
On November 5, 2024, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja passed away unexpectedly, causing great sadness inside the Nigeria Police Force. In remembrance, the Inspector-General of Police has cancelled all non-urgent commitments and non-essential social and personal events for the next two days.
A highly esteemed individual, General Lagbaja was renowned for his unwavering efforts to resist violent extremism, armed banditry, and insurgency. He gained a lot of respect for his commitment to the Nigerian Army and state. General Lagbaja’s outstanding service was deeply respected and appreciated, as evidenced by the Inspector-General’s gesture.
The Nigeria Police Force sends its deepest sympathies to General Lagbaja’s family, coworkers, and loved ones during this trying time, as well as to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. We shall always remember his legacy and dedication to Nigeria’s security.
