The Nigerian singer Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has given an explanation for why he is booked for more gigs than some of his peers.
Every time he takes the stage, he claims, he not only performs his songs but also displays his personality.
He clarified that having popular songs isn’t the only requirement for being a successful singer.
He emphasised that an artiste can have millions of hit songs and still be clueless on stage.
On his X handle, Ruger wrote: “Let me explain to you why I get booked so much. I don’t come on stage to sing (of which I know l’m so good at) I bring my whole fucking personality on stage it’s not a joke
“It’s not by having hit songs you can have a million hit songs and still be clueless on stage at a 200-capacity venue.”
