WORLD NEWS: HARRIS CONCEDES DEFEAT, CALLS TRUMP
The presidential candidate of the Democrats and U.S Vice-President, Kamala Harris has called the president-elect Donald Trump, and conceded defeat.
Harris has congratulated Trump on winning the 2024 presidential election, according to CBS News, BBC’s US partner.
During the call, Harris emphasised the peaceful transfer of power and being a president for all Americans.
It had been reported that Harris would speak to his supporters tomorrow. She is expected to address the public when she delivers remarks at Howard University later today.
On the other hand, Trump in a letter signed by his campaign manager commended his supporters for a job well done, promises to take Americans to enviable heights.
In a statement sent out by his campaign, Donald Trump reflects on his historic win, calling it “a political victory that our country has never seen before”.
