UPDATE: KIDNAPPED NDLEA OFFICERS REGAIN FREEDOM IN DELTA
The safe return of its abducted personnel has been announced by Delta State Command, the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
According to initial reports, the NDLEA personnel were kidnapped on Thursday night, a short distance from the agency’s headquarters, which is situated off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road in Delta State’s Aniocha South Local Government Area.
When work ended at about 8 p.m. on the fateful day, the thugs set up an ambush for the officers and abducted them.
However, Mr. John Kennedy, the state command spokesperson, revealed that the policemen were freed on Sunday night following significant pressure from the agency and other sister agencies. Kennedy confirmed the release in Asaba on Monday.
He said, “I want to confirm the release of our officers. They were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sisters agencies.
