EDO GOV APPOINTS ARISE TV PRESENTER, ALEDEH MD OF STATE BROADCASTING SERVICE

The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Suleiman Aledeh as the substantive Managing Director of the state-owned Edo Broadcasting Service.

According to a statement on Saturday by the governorā€™s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the appointment will take immediate effect.

The statement read in part, ā€œThe Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Suleiman Aledeh as the substantive Managing Director of the State-owned Edo Broadcasting Service. His appointment takes immediate effect.

ā€œAledeh is an international journalist, editor-at-large, strategic media, and communication consultant. He has over two decades of experience in broadcast journalism across both radio and television.

ā€œHe has made significant contributions to prestigious international news channels, including Al Jazeera, SABC, and GB News UK. Currently, he anchors various news programmes at Arise News and shares his insights on Classic FM.

ā€œA graduate of Philosophy from the University of Benin (1999), Sulaiman began his media career while still a student, working at Edo Broadcasting Service.

ā€œHe later served at Ebonyi Radio during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, becoming the first corps member permitted to read the stationā€™s major news bulletin.

ā€œHe further established his voice at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, where he created and presented influential shows.

ā€œHis journey into national television began with one of Africaā€™s foremost media companies, where he anchored flagship news programmes on TVC and Channels Television.

ā€œHis tenure at Channels Television further solidified his expertise in producing compelling television content, delivering some of the networkā€™s most memorable promos, and covering significant events, including the 2011 and 2015 general elections.

ā€œAs the Assistant General Manager and Head of Media and Communications at Eko Disco, Nigeriaā€™s leading electricity distribution company, Aledeh demonstrated strong leadership in strategic communication.

ā€œHe is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and an Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.

ā€œSulaiman holds a Masterā€™s Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos and has served as a Special Correspondent and News Anchor at Arise News in London and Lagos.ā€
