EPL: MAN CITY MIGHT MISS OUT ON TOP FOUR FINISH – CARRAGHER WARNS
Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has warned Manchester City they might not finish in the Premier League top four this season.
Carragher was speaking on Sky Sports after City lost 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah sealed a big win for the Reds.
It also means Arne Slot’s team go nine points clear at the top of the table and 11 points ahead of City, who now sit fifth, below Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton.
Pep Guardiola’s side have now lost four league fixtures in a row and have been beaten in six of their last seven matches in all competitions.
Carragher believes City will find it hard to finish above Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea this season.
He said, “I think it’s almost a mini-crisis for Man City.
“I think it’s reminiscent of Liverpool two years ago. I actually think Man City have a fight on their hands for top four.
“I look at Arsenal and Chelsea and the way they’re looking right now; I think it will be difficult for Man City to finish above them if they don’t go into the market in January.”
