On Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Lagos State Government has stated that traffic on a portion of Victoria Island’s Ajose Adeogun Street will be diverted for the Christmas Youth Parade.

The following alternate routes are advised for drivers to take: Drivers leaving the VCP hotel and headed to the Eko Hotel Roundabout will be rerouted to Jubril Martins Street, where they will turn right into Muri Okunola Street, connect Ligali Ayorinde Street, and then connect Bishop Aboyade Cole Street to Tokunbo Ademola Street to reach their final destinations.

To continue traveling to a desired location, traffic from Ligali Ayorinde Street headed to the Eko Hotel Roundabout will be rerouted to Bishop Aboyade Cole Street, which connects to Adetokunbo Ademola Street.

In order to connect Muri Okunola Street, Jubril Martins Street, and Adetokunbo Ademola Street to Ajose Adeogun Street for their intended destinations, drivers heading inward from the Eko Hotel Roundabout will be rerouted to Adetokunbo Ademola Street.

Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, encourages drivers to exercise patience due to the diversion plan, but he also guarantees that Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officers would be on duty to guarantee smooth traffic flow and driver safety.

The road detour is a part of the traffic control measures for this year’s 2024 Youth Christmas Parade in Victoria Island, Lagos, and drivers are asked to exercise patience
