GOV YUSUF VISITS KANO STUDENTS ON FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP IN INDIA
The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has applauded the exceptional academic performance of students sponsored by his administration to pursue higher education in India.
During a visit to the students at Sharjah University in India, Yusuf expressed pride in their dedication and accomplishments, describing their success as clear proof of the benefits of investing in education.
In a statement on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf affirmed that the resources allocated to the scholarship program were wisely spent, as the students had surpassed expectations with their remarkable academic results.
He emphasised his administration’s commitment to advancing education, highlighting that nurturing young talents is central to his government’s vision for a prosperous Kano State.
“The visit has provided me with an opportunity to engage directly with the students, address their challenges and gather valuable insights from the pioneer batch of over 400 students sponsored to various universities in Uganda and India as part of the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme,” the governor said.
According to the statement, the visit enabled the governor to conduct an on-the-spot assessment, aimed at enhancing preparations for the next set of beneficiaries, both for foreign and domestic scholarships, to ensure the completion of the 100:1 initiative before the end of his first tenure.
“The Governor’s visit serves as an inspiration for students to strive for academic excellence, both at home and abroad,” the statement read.
