SEVEN NOTORIOUS TRAFFIC ROBBERS TERRORISING COMMUTERS IN ETI-OSA NABBED; RECOVER AMMUNITION

Seven well-known and dangerous traffic robbers have been apprehended by law enforcement authorities with ammunition in the Ikota Olukotun ancient village/megamond site, Eti-Osa areas of Lagos State, terrorising commuters and residents, Fly Cable News reports.

It was learnt that the arrest was made after a tip-off by members of the public, as these notorious criminals have been responsible for causing significant distress and fear among both commuters and residents by terrorising these communities.

It was also, gathered that information was received from a member of the public on Wednesday, 27th November 2024, around 2:34 pm, that some hoodlums numbering about seven were seen at Ikota Olukotun ancient village/Megamond site, Eti-Osa, in a commando style, brandishing dangerous weapons and sophisticated ammunition to dispossess innocent members of the public.

The source added that preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested notorious traffic robbers were terrorising innocent commuters on the entire Ikota Olukotun ancient village roads and its environs. In the process, they were able to apprehend the gang leader, Adegboyega Adedokun Liasu, and six others. The gang targeted commuters, residents, and innocent people coming back to work and business trips. Recently, in this particular incident, the suspected robbers attacked an innocent person who came out from the plaza where he purchased some wares.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said we no longer sleep with our two eyes closed due to the attacks on this community by the notorious traffic robbers and land grabbers. We are calling on the Lagos State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to look into our ordeal and save us from these thugs.

The residents urged the Lagos state police not to allow their godfathers to compromise the case, adding that they should be charged to court, as the lives of the commuters and residents are in danger if they are released to the public.

The Nigeria Police Force, Zone II command headquarters, Onikan, Lagos Island, made the arrest before transferring the case to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
