TINUBU APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVES FOR NUC, NEPAD, OTHERS

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Chief Executive Officers for some establishments in the country.

The establishments include the National Universities Commission, the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative, and the New Partnership for Africa Development.

Tinubuā€™s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, announced this in a statement he signed and released on Friday titled ā€˜President Tinubu announced key appointments into NUC, NERDC, NEPAD and SMDF.ā€™

He appointed Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, a visiting professor at the NUC, as the organisationā€™s Executive Secretary.

The statement read in part, ā€œProf. Ribadu is an expert in veterinary reproduction and has served as vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and the Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.

ā€œPresident Tinubu appointed Prof. Salisu Shehu as Executive Secretary of the NERDC.

ā€œProf Shehu is a renowned academic in educational and human Psychology.ā€

Shehu was instrumental in establishing the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano, and was the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.

The President also announced Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauriā€™s appointment as the National Coordinator of NEPAD.

Jabilu Tsauri holds a Masterā€™s in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University.

He is a seasoned administrator with expertise in legislative affairs, global affairs, and democratic governance and vast experience in public service.

Lastly, Tinubu appointed Yazid Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI.

Danfulani holds a Bachelorā€™s Degree in Business Administration and a Masterā€™s in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom.

ā€œHe has extensive experience in Banking, Computing, and Business Administration.

ā€œHe once worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria and was also a Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State,ā€ the Presidency says.

Onanuga noted that the President believes the appointeesā€™ experience and track record will ā€œbring a new sense of commitment, progress, and positive outcomes to fulfil Nigeriansā€™ expectations of their respective organisations.ā€
