‘EVERYBODY LOVES JENIFA’ WILL SHATTER RECORDS, MAKE N5BN – FUNKE AKINDELE
Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has predicted that her upcoming film, “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” will earn N5 billion when it opens in theaters this December.
Speaking alongside members of the film’s cast in a widely shared video, Akindele expressed hope that the film will earn N5 billion this year.
“We are making N5 billion this year,” she said.
The film would surpass the record set by another Funke Akindele film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” which became the first Nigerian film to reach one billion naira, if it makes the anticipated amount.
A number of celebrities, including Funke Akindele’s estranged friend Eniola Badmus, attended the Sunday night premiere of “Everybody Loves Jenifa” in Lagos.
