POLICE RESCUED 36 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN KEBBI
In the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, 36 abducted victims were freed by the Kebbi State Police Command along the Mairairai/Bena road.
This was said in a statement released by Nafiu Abubakar, the police spokesperson.
The statement claims that on December 8, 2024, a big group of gunmen blocked the Mairairai/Bena route and abducted 36 persons who were returning from their individual farms.
According to the police, a team of the army, police, and vigilantes arrived at the area after receiving the complaint, engaged the bandits in a gunfight, and defeated them, causing them to flee into the forest while suffering gunshot wounds.
The 36 victims were retrieved unharmed, according to the police, and are now back with their family.
Bello Sani, the Commissioner of Police, praised the officers’ professionalism, bravery, and tenacity and asked them to be more determined to prevent Kebbi State from becoming a refuge for criminals.
In order to effectively combat bandits and other dishonest elements, the police commissioner also tasked the officers and other security authorities in the region with enhancing their coordination.
