
SOKOTO POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED CAR THIEVES
Austin Anthony “m,” 44, and Mansur Abubakar “m,” 32, have been taken into custody by the Nigerian Police Force’s Sokoto State command for car theft in the state.
This is in accordance with a press release that ASP Ahmed Rufai, the command spokesperson, provided to reporters in the state on Monday.
According to the statement, on May 12, 2024, at approximately 0600 hours, Adamu Muhammad and Kabiru Shehu, both “M” of the Badon Barade Area of Sokoto, filed a complaint alleging that their Corolla LE Ash and Pontiac Vibe cars had been stolen.
“On receipt of the information Policemen attached of Striking Force Unit of the Command swift into action and alerted Police check point along Birnin-Kebbi Road were one of the Stolen vehicle was found driven by one of the Suspect at Bodinga town heading to Birnin-Kebbi road.
“In the course of Investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and additional two vehicles were recovered and one other suspect arrested”
The statement further said, “prior to this, the said suspect Austin Anthony was arrested by Policemen attached to CID in possession of Three Stolen vehicles and was arraign to on the 28/8/2024 for the same offence.
“As soon as the investigation is completed suspects will be charged to court for prosecution”.The statement also said that the command under the leadership of CP Ahmed Musa urges members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest Police formation or through the Command Emergency GSM phone number: 08032345167
